The new acting chairman of the State Committee for National Security is Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov
Sadyr Japarov, the President of Kyrgyzstan, has made the decision to dismiss Kamchybek Tashiev, who held the position of head of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB). The corresponding decree has already been signed.
Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov has been appointed to replace Tashiev and will serve as the acting chairman of the GKNB.
Kamchybek Tashiev was confirmed as chairman of the GKNB on October 16, 2020, when the decree was signed by Sadyr Japarov, who was acting as president following the events of October 5-6 of the same year.
This power tandem, known to the public as "eki dosy," represented a union of two friends and was considered one of the most influential in the country.
Despite rumors of possible disagreements and conflicts between them, both Japarov and Tashiev have always denied these assumptions.
It should be noted that Kamchybek Tashiev may now expect to participate in the early presidential elections, as various experts and political analysts had previously mentioned.
