The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan reports significant successes in the field of cashless payments and the implementation of new technologies in the payment system. These measures contribute to sustainable growth and positive changes in this area.
In 2025, 114.1 thousand QR codes were placed in the trade and services sector, representing an increase of 95.3% compared to 2024.
Moreover, the number of QR transactions reached record levels: the main payment operator recorded 525.1 million operations amounting to 908.6 billion soms in 2025, which is eight and ten times higher than the results of 2024 in terms of quantity and volume, respectively.
It is important to note that Kyrgyzstan has become the only country in Central Asia where inter-system integration of various payment platforms has been conducted using the national standard for QR codes. The ELQR system has connected 20 banks and 14 payment organizations, making this mechanism one of the first and unique achievements of Kyrgyzstan not only in the region but also within the EAEU.
Efforts aimed at developing QR payments in 2025 have become an important step in creating a modern infrastructure for cashless payments and laid the foundation for the further development of the fast payment system.
