At the meeting of the Bishkek city hall's board, dedicated to the results of the municipality's work in 2025 and plans for 2026, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan, Adylbek Kasymaliev, emphasized the importance of tax revenues for the capital.

He noted the significant socio-economic achievements of previous years, emphasizing that over the past five years, the consolidated budget of the country has increased fivefold, reaching a historic mark of over 1 trillion soms, which allows for the modernization and development of the entire country.

“Bishkek, as the capital and the largest financial center, makes a substantial contribution to the state treasury. Of the 304 billion soms collected by the State Tax Service, 198.7 billion soms came from the capital, which accounts for about 65%. We thank all taxpayers who work and live in Bishkek. It is important for law enforcement and fiscal authorities to cease baseless checks on businesses. This issue is under special control,” he added.

Kasymaliev also noted that the city budget in 2021 was 10.7 billion soms and has increased by more than 20 billion soms over four years. In 2024, actual revenues amounted to 37 billion soms, while in 2025 they were 30.6 billion soms.

The city has undergone significant architectural changes from 1970 to 1990, and today construction work continues at a similar pace.

“Our capital is actively being updated. The ‘Yntymak Ordo’ project has become a true adornment not only for the city but for all of Kyrgyzstan. The small arena of the stadium has also been renovated, and road repairs are underway both in the city and its surroundings — over the past five years, 218.1 km of roads have been built. Aitmatov Avenue demonstrates that urban roads are beginning to meet the highest standards. New parks have been opened, and work is being carried out to reconstruct existing ones, creating comfortable conditions for the leisure of citizens. The beds of the Ala-Archa and Alamedin rivers have been cleared, and the embankment of the Big Chui Canal near the ‘Alga’ stadium has been improved. These works must continue until completion. Housing construction is also actively ongoing,” he noted.

Additionally, this year, 32 new schools are planned to be built in Bishkek.

Since 2022, 30 new schools have been opened, major repairs have been carried out in 40 educational institutions, and two schools that were in emergency condition will be put into operation this year. The construction of new schools and additional buildings will continue. There are 143 home-type kindergartens operating in the capital.

Kasymaliev also touched on the issue of technical support for municipal services. This year, the Bishkek city hall received 95 buses and 42 units of special equipment. Since 2021, 1,493 buses running on gas and electricity have been purchased for the city. Over the past two years, utility services have received 446 units of new equipment.

“It should be noted that the modern plant for the disposal of solid household waste has begun operation, processing up to 1,000 tons of garbage per day and generating 30 MW of electricity per year. This plant is a sign of ecological progress in Bishkek. In the next five years, new infrastructure projects are expected to significantly change the capital's appearance,” he concluded.

As a result of the city hall meeting, several instructions were given.
