Employees of the Internal Affairs Department of the city of Osh, as part of the operation "Bandit," stopped the activities of a group that, posing as bloggers, extorted money from citizens. This was reported by the police press service.

According to sources from the Internal Affairs Department, a 22-year-old resident of Osh, A.B., filed a complaint with the police regarding blackmail. He reported that on February 10 of this year, while he was with his girlfriend in a car in an underground parking lot on Shakirova Street, two men, M.S. and Ch. uulu B., approached them.

The criminals accused them of "indecent behavior," allegedly recorded on video, and demanded 100,000 soms, threatening to spread the recording on social media. Under pressure from the blackmailers, A.B. transferred 50,000 soms to an electronic wallet, promising to pay the remaining amount later.

According to the Internal Affairs Department, on February 13, the extortionists contacted the young man again, demanding the remaining debt. At that time, operatives from the service for combating extremism and illegal migration of the Internal Affairs Department of the city of Osh detained the suspects as they were receiving 500 dollars in cash.

Identification of the detainees:

S.M. — 21 years old, temporarily unemployed resident of Osh.

Ch. uulu B. — 24 years old, residing in the Kara-Suu district of the Osh region.

Both were placed in a temporary detention facility in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code, and a criminal case was initiated under part 2 of Article 208 (extortion) of the Criminal Code.

The investigation is also looking into the possible involvement of the detainees in other similar crimes. The police of Osh urge anyone who may have fallen victim to the actions of these individuals to contact them at the following numbers: 0990 95 70 00 or 102.
