“In 2025, the Osh region received 8 billion 543 million soms from the state for capital investments, of which 8.1 billion soms were fully utilized for 357 projects,” said Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, during his speech at the meeting of the presidential representative office in the Osh region, summarizing the results of the work for 2025.

He also emphasized that of the allocated funds, 3.7 billion soms were directed to 242 social facilities, including the construction or renovation of 133 schools, 57 kindergartens, 17 healthcare facilities, and 35 cultural and sports complexes.

Additionally, in 2025, work was carried out on 114 infrastructure projects, and 4 billion 348 million soms were allocated for 82 roads. Specifically, 2.2 billion soms were allocated for the Uzgen–Myrzake–Kara-Kulja road, and 317.9 million soms for 13 water supply facilities and 19 irrigation projects. Kasymaliev also reported that to support local budgets, 1 billion 329.2 million soms were allocated to the Osh region, resulting in approximately 11 billion soms coming from the republican budget in 2025.

The budget of the Osh region in 2024 was 4 billion 731 million soms, while in 2025, revenues reached 6 billion 447 million soms, which is 2.3 billion soms more than in 2024. However, according to Kasymaliev, this is still insufficient. He highlighted the achievements and problems of each district separately.

“The Osh region plays a significant role in the socio-economic development of the country, but productivity is still inadequate. In 2025, the gross output of industrial products in Talas was 51 billion soms, while in the Osh region it was only 22.8 billion soms, which is 2.3 times less,” he noted, giving a number of instructions to improve the situation. In particular, he called for enhancing the quality of industrial goods, activating exports, developing public-private partnerships, and creating favorable conditions for investors.

“It is necessary to intensify investment attraction, launch large economic projects, and promote initiatives to revive idle enterprises. It is important to focus on the processing of agricultural products and the development of high value-added production,” concluded Kasymaliev, noting the Uzgen and Chon-Alay districts as “good,” while assessing the Osh region as a whole as “satisfactory” based on the results of the previous year’s work.
