The key factor in reducing pasture degradation, according to First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Zhanibek Kerimaliev, is not the increase in livestock numbers, but the improvement of its quality. He stated this during a broadcast on a state channel, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Experts estimate that by introducing high-yield breeds of livestock, the load on pastures can be reduced by up to 5%.
“Thus, keeping a smaller number of more productive livestock, both for meat and dairy purposes, is more effective from both an economic and ecological standpoint,” noted Kerimaliev.

To achieve these goals, high-quality breeding seeds of breeds such as Aberdeen Angus, Simmental, and Swedish breeds have been imported into the country. The seed material has been provided to farmers through veterinary and technical specialists, and consulting support is also offered as part of the program for the development of breeding livestock.

In addition, the Deputy Minister reported that after the completion of the autumn period, analyses of the growth and productivity of the new breeds will be conducted, based on which the effectiveness of this project will be assessed.
