As of January 1, 2026, 854 social workers employed in urban, district, and inter-district departments of the Ministry of Labor provide assistance to 9452 citizens in need of social support. This is reported in the agency's press release.
Among the recipients of assistance:
• lonely elderly people – 3819 individuals;
• citizens with disabilities – 2313 individuals;
• married couples – 350 families;
• families in difficult life situations – 2971 families.
The specialists working in this field provide support to elderly individuals living alone, as well as those with limited mobility, couples, and families facing difficulties. They assist in solving everyday tasks and provide psychological and social support.
Each social worker visits their clients at least twice a week according to a pre-established schedule approved by the department's management. This approach contributes to quality care and timely assistance for those in need.
To receive home social assistance services, a written request must be submitted by local self-government bodies, neighbors, or relatives of the citizens in need of support. The Ministry of Labor, Social Protection, and Migration continues to work on improving the quality of social services, striving to make them more accessible and effective.
