Guterres urged the international community to heed the main message of Ramadan, which is the desire to overcome differences, help those in need, and protect the rights and dignity of every person. He reminded that every year, at the beginning of Ramadan, he traditionally visits one of the Muslim communities and participates in fasting as a sign of solidarity.
