As part of a special raid conducted by the staff of the Main Directorate for Road Traffic Safety, 37 drivers were detained for illegally installing additional fuel tanks on their vehicles. These modifications were used to import fuel from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan for the purpose of subsequent illegal sale along the roads.
All detained vehicles were placed in a temporary impound lot, and their owners were fined 5,500 soms. The return of the vehicles to their owners will only be possible after the complete dismantling of the illegally installed tanks.
