The development of the GIS 'SUMO' is being carried out by the institution 'AgroSmart', which is subordinate to the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry. According to the ministry, the new system will be a modern web application that will provide a unified tool for visualizing, accounting, monitoring, and analytical processing of data on the veterinary and sanitary condition in the country.
The project includes numerous activities, among which are:
• creation of an interactive map indicating anthrax outbreaks and facilities for the disposal of biological waste;
• implementation of accounting for veterinary and sanitary measures;
• formation of a centralized database for analytical purposes and decision-making;
• automated notification of responsible services about new cases of the disease;
• integration of the system with other state information resources of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The implementation of this system will increase the transparency of veterinary activities, improve the effectiveness of preventive measures, and strengthen biological safety in the country.
The introduction of GIS 'SUMO' will be a significant step towards the digitalization of public administration in the veterinary field and will ensure a high level of monitoring of the epizootic situation in the Kyrgyz Republic.
