In the Kadamjay district of the Batken region, in the Ak-Turpak aiyl okmotu, there is a spring known as Pidap-suu, which local residents call Sasyk-Bulak.

This source continues to function, and its water contains hydrogen sulfide, which leads to the characteristic smell of rotten eggs that dissipates in fresh air.

Turmush correspondent gathered information about the Pidap-Suu spring. In 1875-1876, a military garrison of the Fergana district was located here. Due to the spread of scabies among the soldiers, a biochemist V.V. Pidov was sent to the garrison. He discovered a spring located 8-9 km south of Ak-Turpak, which is now 9 km from the Osh-Batken-Razzakov highway.

Pidov, while studying the water, concluded that it had healing properties and opened a medical point where he treated soldiers for scabies. However, this point was destroyed by mudflows a few years later.

Since then, the spring has become known as Pidap, and local residents confirm that they still use the water for healing purposes.

According to local livestock breeders, cattle that drink water from this source have no liver problems.

Gardeners also claim that watering vineyards with water from this source helps protect the plants from diseases.
