Free style or classic in school uniform? The Ministry of Education has stated its position

The Ministry of Education of Kyrgyzstan has confirmed that the current requirements for school uniforms must adhere to a classic style. This information was announced by the head of the department of upbringing and extracurricular education, Altynbek Erkimbekov.
Recently, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev expressed the opinion at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh about the need to revise the standards and create more comfortable uniforms for students. He suggested implementing more relaxed styles of clothing and allowing educational institutions to independently determine how the uniform should look.

Erkimbekov noted that school uniforms in Kyrgyzstan should remain within the framework of classic style, according to the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic Resolution No. 572 dated August 12, 2015. This document outlines uniform requirements that take into account climatic conditions and temperature regimes in educational facilities.
According to him, these norms were developed with the participation of parents, students, and specialists. For boys, the uniform includes a shirt, vest, trousers, and jacket made in solid colors (black, gray, dark blue, burgundy), while girls are offered a blouse, vest, skirt, trousers, dress, apron, and jacket made of solid or checkered fabric. Light colors are permissible for shirts.

Erkimbekov also emphasized that pressure on socially vulnerable families to purchase uniforms of a specific model is unjustified, and the option of "light top, dark bottom" is acceptable.

“The classic style helps to foster discipline and minimize social differences among students,” the Ministry of Education concluded.
