- From September 1, 2025, to February 19, 2026, Kazakhstan exported 6.4 million tons of the new grain harvest. This is 19.7% more than in the same period of the 2024/2025 marketing year, when 5.4 million tons were supplied, reports the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.

“The increase in exports is due to the activation of trade with traditional markets, both in Central Asia and beyond. Supplies to Uzbekistan increased by 46%, reaching 3 million tons, while exports to Kyrgyzstan grew 1.7 times — from 104 thousand tons to 180 thousand tons. There is also a 1.9-fold increase in supplies to Afghanistan, from 236 thousand tons to 466 thousand tons,” the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan reported.

It was previously reported that the export of Kazakh grain through the ports of the Baltic States in 2025 increased more than six times, reaching 802 thousand tons. In 2026, the total area of crops in the country will amount to 23.8 million hectares, which is 180 thousand hectares more than in 2025. As part of the crop diversification strategy, the area under grain crops is being reduced to 15.9 million hectares, which is 112.4 thousand hectares less than last year, mainly due to a decrease in the area under wheat to 12.1 million hectares, compared to 12.2 million hectares last year.

In addition, the government of Kazakhstan allocated 7 billion tenge to support grain exporters. These funds are aimed at fully meeting the state's obligations under the current transportation cost subsidy program, as well as further stimulating supplies to key foreign markets, including countries in Central Asia.
