The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic expressed serious concern over the escalation in the Middle East

In its official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic expressed serious alarm regarding the growing tensions in the Middle Eastern region. Bishkek calls on the international community to unite efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

Kyrgyzstan emphasizes the necessity of strict adherence to the UN Charter and international law. Officials in Bishkek urged the parties to the conflict to exercise restraint, immediately cease hostilities, and take all possible steps to restore constructive dialogue. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that any decisions must be made exclusively through peaceful means.

The situation began to escalate on February 28, when the armed forces of the United States and Israel conducted a joint air operation in Tehran. As a result of numerous airstrikes, key figures in the Iranian leadership were eliminated, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Commander of the IRGC Mohammad Pakpour, and Secretary of the Defense Council Ali Shamkhani.

On the morning of March 1, Iran confirmed the deaths of its high-ranking leaders through state television, announcing a 40-day mourning period and seven days of holidays. Shortly thereafter, a temporary governing council was established in Tehran under the leadership of President Masoud Pezeshkian, and the international community began to express concerns about the potential for large-scale destabilization in the region.
