According to the information from the Internal Affairs Department of the Batken region, as a result of a joint operation by the Main Department of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and operatives of the Kyzyl-Kiya Internal Affairs Department, a suspect in a series of thefts was detained. It has been established that the detainee is registered as a member of an organized criminal group (OCG).
The investigation revealed that from December 2025 to January 2026, the number of cases of theft of personal property increased at the central market "Tashtemir Azhy" in Kyzyl-Kiya. The suspect acted discreetly, stealing money and valuable items from the pockets and bags of shoppers.
During operational-search activities, the identity of the detainee was established — he turned out to be a 34-year-old citizen, J.M., residing in Osh. The man was detained in Osh and brought to the investigative authorities for further proceedings.
According to preliminary data, the amount of damage caused to the victims is approximately 70,000 soms.
Currently, investigative actions are ongoing, and the possible involvement of the detainee in other similar crimes in the region is being checked.
