The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan has made a statement regarding the situation of its citizens in the Middle East and Persian Gulf countries. Seitik Jumakadyrov, the director of the Consular Department, noted that currently there have been no reported cases of Kyrgyz citizens being harmed, and no requests for emergency evacuation have been received.
According to the ministry, there are about 22 thousand Kyrgyz citizens in these countries. The largest groups are concentrated in the United Arab Emirates, where approximately 10 thousand people reside, and in Saudi Arabia, where about 6 thousand pilgrims are present for Umrah. Additionally, a significant number of Kyrgyz citizens live in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan — totaling over a thousand people. In Iran and Israel, there are 100 citizens of Kyrgyzstan, whose safety is being monitored.
The most serious logistical difficulties have arisen in Dubai and Qatar, where about 800 and 1,000 people, respectively, have experienced delays. Diplomats in Dubai are working around the clock and have already processed over a thousand inquiries. One of the important tasks has been coordinating with hotels, as 800 Kyrgyz citizens have had their accommodation periods expire, and consuls are making efforts to prevent their eviction until the situation is resolved. In Qatar and Abu Dhabi, work is also continuing in a similar manner, although accommodation issues there are not as acute.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges citizens to remain calm, follow the instructions of local authorities, and maintain constant contact with the diplomatic missions of Kyrgyzstan.
