Marlen Mamataliyev, the speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, stated that the previously published information about the income of deputies was presented in a distorted manner.
He clarified that according to official data, the salary of a deputy is 58,432 soms. In addition, there is a fund of 80,000 soms allocated to cover expenses for fuel, car repairs, driver salaries, organizing meetings with citizens, and trips to the regions.
The speaker added that sometimes the allocated funds are insufficient, and deputies have to use their own money to cover additional expenses.
Mamataliyev also urged media representatives and bloggers to be responsible in disseminating information and to refrain from publishing lists of deputies who, in their opinion, should be excluded from parliament.
