At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan, the Speaker Marlen Mamataliyev provided clarifications regarding the salaries of deputies.
He expressed concern about rumors that have spread among journalists and bloggers that some deputies may leave parliament. "I ask you not to spread unfounded rumors. We are working in accordance with the law," he added.
Mamataliyev also mentioned that in his recent interview about the digitization of parliament, he briefly touched on the issue of deputy salaries. "However, some distorted information has emerged in society. According to the data I have, the salary of deputies is 58,432 soms, and the deputy fund is 80,000 soms. This fund is used for various needs, including covering travel expenses to the regions," he noted.
