Sadyr Japarov, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, has signed a decree introducing a new monthly benefit for children under three years old. The press service of the head of state reported this recently.
According to the new document, starting from July 1, 2026, the "Bala Irysy" benefit will be paid. It will be provided to all children under three years old, regardless of their families' financial situation. The amount of the benefit will be 1200 soms per month.
In the presidential administration, it was noted that this decision was made in response to numerous appeals from citizens. It aims to support families during one of the most significant periods in children's development.
The president emphasized that he often receives complaints regarding difficulties in obtaining state benefits, which are accompanied by bureaucratic procedures.
Many mothers face refusals and long checks, even when they genuinely need government assistance, he added.
Sadyr Japarov also noted that special attention should be given to families with small children, as this is precisely the period when the foundations of a person's physical and mental abilities are laid.
In this regard, the president instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to develop a mechanism for implementing the new "Bala Irysy" benefit.
He stressed that the state must support children, even if this may lead to some abuses.
According to the head of state, it is better to provide a few extra benefits to those who are not in urgent need than to leave even one child who truly needs support without assistance.
According to him, all measures being taken are aimed at ensuring that no child in the country is left without attention and care.
The new social support measure is expected to significantly reduce the level of child poverty and guarantee assistance to families with small children.
According to the National Statistical Committee, there are about 445,000 children under the age of three living in Kyrgyzstan.
