Films from Kyrgyzstan and Armenia Became the Best at the "Umut" Film Forum

From March 4 to 7, the XIII International Film Forum of Young Filmmakers of the CIS titled "Umut" took place in Bishkek, as reported by the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan.

During the forum, 38 films were presented, and workshops and project pitching sessions were organized.

At the closing ceremony, the prize for "Best Film" in the international category was awarded to the Armenian film "Seagulls over Golgotha," directed by Lia Karapetyan. The award for "Best Director" was given to Nurlan Hasanli from Azerbaijan for his work "Early Feelings."

In the national competition, the main prize was won by Tolomush Janibekov's film "Balık" ("Fish"), and the title of "Best Director" was awarded to Daniyar Abirov for the film "Obonchu."

Additionally, as a result of the pitching session, the project "You and Me" received approval from the film studio "Kyrgyzfilm," while projects such as "Accomplice," "Ultrasound," and "Gesture" received financial support.
