Gulsunkhan Junushalieva, a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, represents the Kyrgyz Republic at the 70th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women, which is currently taking place in New York. The opening ceremony of the event has already been held.
According to the press service of the parliament, this year's main theme of discussion is "Ensuring and strengthening access to justice for all women and girls, including the creation of inclusive and fair legal systems, eliminating discriminatory norms and practices, and overcoming structural barriers."
In addition, during the event, the deputy has scheduled meetings with representatives of organizations such as the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the World Health Organization (WHO), UNESCO, as well as with parliamentarians from other participating countries of the session.
