The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan reports that OJSC "Chakan HPP" continues active work on the construction project of the Papanskaya HPP.

Currently, the construction of temporary access roads extending for 9.2 km is underway, and the creation of a town for builders is nearing completion.

In addition, work is being done on the design and allocation of land plots for the creation of a 110 kV overhead power line, and the necessary permitting documents are being prepared, including approvals for blasting works that will be required for the construction of the diversion tunnel.

A preliminary environmental impact assessment (EIA) has also been developed for participation in the Green Energy Fund competition, which led to the signing of a lease agreement for the land plot for the construction of the HPP.

This project contributes to increasing generating capacities and enhancing the reliability of electricity supply in the southern regions of Kyrgyzstan.
