Tax Service of the Kyrgyz Republic: Debt Accumulated Before 2022 is Subject to Write-Off

The debt for taxes and insurance contributions that arose before the beginning of 2022 will be written off. This became known from the statement of Kubanychbek Isabekov, Deputy Chairman of the State Tax Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, on the air of "Birinchi Radio".

He noted that changes were made to the Tax Code last year by the president's decree.

"As for the procedure for writing off taxes, a decision was made that debts incurred before 2022 will be annulled, provided that no criminal case has been initiated against them," Kubanychbek Isabekov explained.

He also added that other types of debts may also be subject to write-off, even if there is already a court decision on them. "Even debts for which there is a court decision can be written off," he clarified.

In addition, the Deputy Chairman stated that the State Tax Service plans to provide additional clarifications on the application of these norms on the ground. The agency intends to send a circular to all districts to ensure the simplicity and transparency of the write-off process in accordance with the legislation.

Kubanychbek Isabekov also mentioned that some decisions on write-offs have already been made in specific areas. In particular, this concerns issues related to the export of livestock to Uzbekistan and the purchase of agricultural products without the necessary documents.
