At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Elvira Surabaldiyeva raised the issue that some GKNB employees, while seizing property from entrepreneurs, might have appropriated part of the confiscated funds for themselves.
In response to her statement, President Sadyr Japarov noted that he had given clear instructions to the heads of the prosecutor's office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the GKNB to conduct a detailed investigation of all complaints received.
“I insisted on an impartial investigation of all statements,” the president added.
According to him, special attention will be paid to possible cases of appropriation of confiscated property by law enforcement officers. “I instructed to conduct thorough checks on those employees who may have unlawfully appropriated part of the confiscated property,” Japarov emphasized.
In addition, the president reported that the audit of all assets returned to the state will be completed by the end of the current year. The inspection will consider not only monetary funds but also factories, land plots, institutions, kindergartens, and other facilities. Upon completion of the audit, the exact value of the returned property will be announced.
