The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported on the fact of extortion and illegal collection of funds from the heads of educational institutions in Naryn.
Employees of the Naryn City Education Department (GOONO), abusing their official powers, demanded from the directors of educational institutions amounts ranging from 4,000 to 5,000 soms. This money, it was claimed, was intended for an inspector of the Accounts Chamber of the KR, in order to conceal identified financial violations.
During a search of the suspects' office, 68,000 soms in cash were found, as well as a list of 17 educational institutions (schools and kindergartens) in Naryn with notes on the received funds.
On March 12, 2026, the head of the Naryn GOONO, T.U.S., was detained in connection with a criminal case initiated under Article 343, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the KR. The court imposed a preventive measure in the form of detention during the investigation.
The SCNS continues to conduct operational and investigative actions aimed at identifying other individuals involved in this crime.
