In Jalal-Abad, the first subject Olympiad in the region's history was held, organized by the local authorities, reports Turmush correspondent.

Today, the presidential representative of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Jalal-Abad region, Tilek Tekebaev, addressed the winners with congratulations and also presented them with prizes.

In this two-day intellectual competition, 147 schoolchildren participated, selected from 4,500 students who passed preliminary stages from all districts and cities of the region.

The participants tested their knowledge in six subjects: mathematics, geography, physics, chemistry, biology, and computer science.

At the award ceremony, Tekebaev congratulated not only the schoolchildren but also their teachers, emphasizing that such competitions contribute to increasing youth interest in education and revealing their potential.

The organization of the Olympiad cost 1 million 50 thousand soms, allocated from the reserve fund of the local authorities. The main funds were directed towards the prize fund and the event's organization.

During the celebration, 18 winners were awarded diplomas, as well as phones, televisions, and tablets. Additionally, 17 teachers whose students took prize-winning places received letters of appreciation and cash bonuses.

Also at the event, the International University named after K. Toktomamatov in Manas offered educational benefits to the winners. Thus, students who took 1st place received certificates for a 100% discount on tuition, 2nd place for a 50% discount, and 3rd place for a 30% discount.
