At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputies discussed the issue of appointing a new chairman of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The candidacy of Almaz Baketaev for this position was presented by Bektur Zulpiyev, the permanent representative of the president and the cabinet of ministers in parliament.
As a result of the discussions, the deputies unanimously elected Almaz Baketaev as chairman of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, with 73 parliamentarians voting in favor of his candidacy.
In addition, the Jogorku Kenesh decided to prematurely relieve Melis Turgunbaev of his duties as chairman of the bank.
