On the slope of a hill in the village of Zheti-Tash, located in the rural district of Keng-Talaa in the Leilek region of the Batken province, stands the mausoleum of Janibek Baba.

This information was provided by local residents to a Turmush correspondent.

According to them, the mausoleum is situated on an elevation.

According to popular beliefs, Janibek Baba was an extraordinary person who was assisted by a cloud resembling a camel.

“He often sought advice from his unusual helper, receiving predictions about the future. Janibek Baba possessed great knowledge and a kind heart, communicating with the cloud as an equal,” the locals say.

Legends assert that Janibek Baba is considered a saint and in the past, he served as an advisor to community leaders.

“By supporting the weak and helping families in need, Janibek Baba tried to be just. Due to various difficult situations, he went to live in the mountains and soon disappeared. The place where he vanished was named in connection with his death. Later, his descendants built a mausoleum there, which became a sacred site. Residents of the Leilek region, Suluktu, as well as citizens from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan often visit this place,” the villagers share.
