From Lake Issyk-Kul, nets the length of three football fields have been retrieved

On March 23, employees of the Issyk-Kul Regional Office of the Environmental Supervision Service conducted an operation to remove 300 meters of illegal fishing nets from Lake Issyk-Kul, reports the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision.

According to the agency, if these nets were laid out in a single line, their length would equal three football fields.

“These hidden ‘traps’ harm fish and pollute the lake's ecosystem by releasing plastic,” the Ministry of Natural Resources emphasizes.
