A new state company called "Kyrgyz Satellite" has been established in Kyrgyzstan. The corresponding decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers of the country.
According to information from the Ministry of Agriculture, the newly formed company will be responsible for the implementation of space technologies and the creation of a national system for obtaining and using aerospace data. It is expected that this will significantly improve the accuracy and speed of decision-making in areas such as land use, environmental monitoring, climate analysis, mineral exploration, and emergency prevention.
The founder and sole shareholder of the company will be the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.
It is planned that the infrastructure of "Kyrgyz Satellite" will be developed in the city of Karakol, located in the Issyk-Kul region. This will create additional opportunities for the development of the region and the attraction of new technologies.
The authorities of the country view this project as a strategic investment in long-term development, security, and technological independence. In the future, satellite data is planned to be actively used in areas such as agriculture, water resource management, and the digitalization of government processes.
