Yesterday, March 26, he was summoned to the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a witness in the investigation of the "Kyrgyzneftegaz" case. After being interrogated, Turgunbaev was placed in the temporary detention facility of the Main Internal Affairs Department of Bishkek.
From 2013 to 2017, Melis Turgunbaev was a member of the board of directors of "Kyrgyzneftegaz" and for some time held the position of chairman of the board of this company.
Turgunbaev is suspected of corrupt actions related to multi-billion embezzlements in "Kyrgyzneftegaz," as reported by sputnik. He previously also held the position of chairman of this organization.
