The deputy raised the issue of constructing a new oncology center and infectious disease hospital in Osh

At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Bekmyrza Ergyshev raised the issue of constructing a new oncology center and infectious disease hospital in Osh. He noted that every year, 6,400 people are registered for oncological diseases in Kyrgyzstan, of which 2,000 are in the southern region. This data was provided to him by the Osh Interregional Oncology Center.

Ergyshev emphasized that the existing oncology center does not meet modern requirements and international standards: the building has long been recognized as emergency, and in 2013 it had to be relocated to a kindergarten. Since then, the problem of constructing a new center has remained unresolved. Moreover, the center lacks the necessary linear accelerator, which seriously complicates treatment, as 85% of patients require radiation therapy.

The deputy expressed concern about the outdated state of the center's material and technical base and called for the need to equip it with modern equipment. He reported that a land plot for the new center has already been allocated.

In addition, Ergyshev discussed the situation with the infectious disease hospital in Osh, which has only 270 beds.

According to the deputy, during outbreaks of respiratory infections, small patients are often placed in the corridors, which creates problems for both the patients and the medical staff. In 2025, the hospital provided assistance to 17,000 patients, and the deputy emphasized the necessity of constructing a new hospital with 500 beds.
