According to the presented data, this year there were 48 registered cases of infant mortality under one year of age, which is 6% higher compared to the previous year. This figure has become a serious concern in the medical community.
Experts note that most fatalities occurred during the perinatal period, meaning that deaths happened during childbirth or in the first days after birth. Cases related to asphyxia and lung diseases in newborns were the most frequently recorded.
It was also pointed out at the board meeting that out of the total number of recorded deaths, 7 cases occurred in medical institutions in the capital, Bishkek. However, since these infants were residents of the Naryn region, they were accounted for in the statistics of this region.
Participants of the meeting emphasized the need to improve the quality of perinatal care, as well as the importance of strengthening the material and technical base of maternity hospitals, enhancing the qualifications of medical workers, and focusing on early diagnosis.
