During a joint meeting of the parliamentary groups "Isheni" and "Ala-Too," Gulnara Akimbaeva presented an initiative to simplify the procedure for obtaining disability status for children.
According to her, there are over 37,000 registered children with disabilities in the country, of which about 3,000 have mental disorders.
She emphasized that many parents face difficulties when applying for disability status. In particular, they are forced to undergo numerous examinations by various specialists, contact Family Medicine Centers, as well as the Republican Center for Mental Health and medical-social expert commissions, gathering the necessary documents and returning to the same institutions.
Akimbaeva called on the Ministry of Health to improve the process of passing the commission and obtaining disability status for children.
