In Kyrgyzstan, government funding is helping to treat patients with kidney failure. This was stated by the Minister of Health, Damir Osmonov, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.
He specified that the corresponding decision was initiated by the president and parliament in 2021.
“In 2025, 3.5 billion soms are allocated from the budget for hemodialysis. In accordance with the president's instructions, organ transplant programs are actively being developed in the country. Operations are carried out both at the Kyrgyz-Turkish hospital and at Osh State University. To date, 82 kidney transplant operations have been performed in Kyrgyzstan, of which 40 were done free of charge through government funding. In particular, in 2024, 21 operations were performed, in 2025 – 16, and currently in 2026 – 3 transplants,” the minister added.
