
On Monday, in central Vietnam, particularly in the city of Hue, the precipitation level ranged from 1085 mm to 1700 mm, setting a new record that surpassed the previous figure of 990 mm from 1999.
Meteorologists predict that in the coming days, the rains in the central regions of the country will not cease, with expected precipitation amounts ranging from 100 to 800 mm. Forecasts indicate that by Thursday night, the precipitation will shift north from the central area.
Since the beginning of last week, heavy rains have started in Vietnam, causing flooding and landslides, as well as damaging buildings. As a result, more than 8,600 people have been evacuated.
