
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will travel to Davos for the ceremony of signing the Charter of the Council of Peace, having received an invitation from U.S. President Donald Trump, as reported by the Akorda press service.
This ceremony is scheduled for January 22.
On January 19, it became known that Tokayev accepted Trump's official invitation to be part of the newly established Council of Peace for Gaza.
In Davos, where the annual World Economic Forum is taking place from January 19, the participation of more than 60 heads of state and government is expected. The signing of the Charter of the Council of Peace is set for January 22.
On January 16, Donald Trump announced the creation of a new international organization — the "Council of Peace," which will be responsible for monitoring the implementation of agreements in the Gaza Strip. At the same time, the U.S. president also points to the goal of "promoting peace" in other conflict regions.
