Startup Hypersonica announced the successful test of a hypersonic missile prototype

The German-British startup Hypersonica announced the successful testing of its first prototype of the hypersonic missile HS1. According to the company, the launch took place on February 3 at the Annoia spaceport located in northern Norway.

As reported by TASS, the missile reached a speed of 6 Mach, which is equivalent to over 7,400 km/h, and covered a distance of about 300 km. Serial production of the HS1 is planned to begin by 2029. The missile is several meters long and weighs over 1 ton, although detailed technical specifications have not yet been disclosed.

Hypersonica was founded in 2023, its headquarters is located in Munich, and the office of its subsidiary is in London.
