Nissan has announced two large-scale recalls affecting a total of 642,698 Rogue crossovers. The decision was made due to potential defects in the transmission and engine that could cause a loss of power while driving, as reported by Kazinform, citing CBS.
The first recall covers 323,917 vehicles manufactured between 2023 and 2025, equipped with a three-cylinder 1.5-liter VC-Turbo engine with variable compression ratio. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) warns of possible engine bearing failure, which could lead to oil leaks and increase the risk of fire.
This recall is an extension of a previous campaign announced in June of last year, which involved over 480,000 vehicles, including Rogue, Infiniti, and Nissan Altima models. At that time, federal authorities reported manufacturing defects that could cause a sudden loss of traction and increase the likelihood of accidents.
The second recall concerns 318,781 Rogue vehicles produced in 2024-2025, also with a similar turbo engine. NHTSA specifies that a gear failure in the electronic throttle control unit may occur, which could lead to a hazardous situation.
It has been reported that all affected vehicles will undergo diagnostics and free repairs at dealerships. Notifications for vehicle owners are scheduled to be sent out on March 27, 2026.
