The resettlement of residents from border villages in the Leilek district has been completed.

On November 29, the process of resettling residents from the border villages of the Leilek district in Batken region was completed. This event was part of the agreements regarding the demarcation of the state border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, as reported by the local administration.

As part of the resettlement, 76 residential houses were built for the new citizens:

— 60 of them are located in the village of Razakov;

— 16 houses are in the village of Maksat.

The resettlement affected residents of I. Nurmatov and A. Zhanibayev streets in the village of Razakov, as well as residents of the Sada area and the village of Maksat. These territories are to be exchanged for land plots in the villages of Khistevraz and Madaniyat, located in B. Gafurov and J. Rasulov districts of Tajikistan.

Aibek Shamenov, the authorized representative of the President of Kyrgyzstan in Batken region, familiarized himself with the living conditions in the new settlements, noting that work on improving infrastructure will soon be completed, creating the necessary living conditions. Support for the resettlers will continue.

Previously, resettlement was also carried out for residents of the villages of Dostuk, Dobo, Tash-Tumshuk, as well as the areas of Kok-Terek, Mazeit, and Teskey. A new settlement called Zhanı Dostuk was built for them on the Chyet-Bulak area, which includes 181 residential houses.

These territories were exchanged for lands of the villages of Somoniyon and Kozho-Alo in accordance with intergovernmental agreements on border demarcation.
