In the Batken region, in the village of Pasky-Aryk, which borders Tajikistan, work has begun on the installation of fences.

Local residents are confident that this innovation will help solve problems related to the movement of livestock, which previously often crossed the border, creating difficulties for both sides.

Previously, the only dividing element between the two states was a canal, which did not provide adequate control over the movement of animals. As a result, if livestock ended up on the other side, their return became impossible, often leading to losses.

With the introduction of fences, the situation is expected to improve. The canal, which previously served as the border for two villages, will now be accessible to both sides. On the Tajik side, only the issue of water distribution remains, while in Kyrgyzstan, special reservoirs have been created from which local residents can draw water using pumping stations.

Currently, reinforced concrete posts are being installed and barbed wire is being stretched in Pasky-Aryk.

According to the State Border Service of the GKNB of Kyrgyzstan, as of October 25, 2025, the following works have been completed as part of the engineering support for the state border:

- 107 km 590.5 m of wire has been installed, including:

- 109,348.5 m of reinforced concrete posts;

- 71,989 m of "Egoza" wire;

- 26,419 m of barbed wire;

- 9,182.5 m of 3D fences.

Additionally, 143 km 655 m of roads have been constructed.

Turmush previously reported that on April 29, 2025, work began on the installation of a border fence in the Batken region near the stele at the border of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

The process of installing the fence started in the Koshmolo area of the Turt-Gul ayil district of the Batken region.

To carry out the border fencing work in this area, a field camp has been established to provide comfortable conditions for the border guards. Special equipment has been sent to the work site.

In the first phase, it is planned to install a fence along 420 km of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, with the work expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Earlier, on March 13, 2025, the work on the delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border was completed when the heads of the two states signed an agreement on border issues during an official ceremony in Bishkek.
As a result of a trilateral meeting held on March 31, the presidents of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan — Sadyr Japarov, Emomali Rahmon, and Shavkat Mirziyoyev — signed the Treaty on the Borders of the Three Countries and the Khujand Declaration of Friendship.

The state leaders noted that the signing of these documents emphasizes respect for the sovereignty and integrity of the countries and serves as an example of productive dialogue and cooperation in Central Asia.

During the ceremony, conducted via videoconference, the heads of state jointly pressed a button installed on a special stand, marking the opening of the stele at the border. The deputy prime ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan cut the ribbon, officially inaugurating the symbolic stele.

This stele symbolizes the friendship of peoples and a new era of cooperation and trust between the countries after resolving border issues.
