In Osh, along S. Supanaliev Street, the process of demolishing a two-story residential building that was constructed without permission in the water protection zone of the Jöö Bas canal has begun.

This information was provided by the press service of the city administration.

According to the city administration, the expansion of S. Supanaliev Street and the dismantling of structures that obstruct traffic are currently underway. This street starts from the A. Suyumbaev Stadium and connects with Rysbai Abdykadyrov Street. In connection with the upcoming changes, old houses are subject to demolition to free up space for the new road.

Local residents noted that the street was previously a dead end and was home to barrack-style houses. Over time, new residential complexes, shops, and hotels have emerged in their place. Some owners have altered the course of the canal or covered it to build new structures.

According to residents, the largest plot of land on this street is about 5 hundredths, while the other plots range from 1 to 4 hundredths.
“In addition to residential houses located in the water protection zone, there are also hotels, guest houses, and a multi-story building owned by the family of Aibek Osmonov on this street.

Currently, work is ongoing to eliminate illegal constructions along the Jöö Bas canal.

Earlier, the city mayor conducted an inspection on this street and instructed the relevant services to demolish all buildings that are outside the water protection zone of the canal, as well as to clear its bed. A check on the legality of the multi-story building, under which the canal's bed was covered, has also been initiated,” the city administration's statement said.

According to current legislative requirements, the water protection zone of canals ranges from 6 to 50 meters on each side.

The water protection zone of the Jöö Bas canal is 6 meters.
