Currently, work on the installation of the fencing is underway in the Leilek district, near the village of Maksat.

According to the authorized representative of the president in the Batken region, as of November 12, 2025, a total of 115 kilometers and 958 meters of wire fencing has been installed throughout the Batken region. Of this, 84 kilometers and 806 meters are in the Batken district and 31 kilometers and 152.5 meters are in the Leilek district.

Additionally, 176 kilometers of road have been constructed along the line of fencing.

In order to expedite the process of demarcating the state border, local authorities continue to regularly carry out work to clear border zones of residential houses, yards, and plantings. In the Leilek district, 108 structures have been demolished, including residential houses, outbuildings, kitchens, baths, and commercial buildings.

Independent assessments are being conducted for these structures.
Turmush previously reported that on April 29, 2025, work began on the installation of border fencing at a site near the stele at the junction of the borders of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

The installation of the fencing started in the Koshmolo area of the Tort-Gul ayil aimak in the Batken district.

A field camp has been established in the area to facilitate the border fencing work, providing comfortable conditions for the border guards. Special equipment has been brought to the site for the demarcation work.

In the first phase, it is planned to install fencing along a section of 420 km of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border. The completion of this work is scheduled for the end of the year.

Previously, the work on the delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border was completed, and on March 13, 2025, the heads of the two states signed an agreement on border issues in Bishkek.
As a result of a trilateral meeting of the presidents of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, on March 31 in Khujand, the Treaty on the Junction Point of the Borders of the Three States and the Khujand Declaration on Eternal Friendship were signed.

The leaders of the countries emphasized that the signing of these documents symbolizes respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the countries, as well as serves as an example of constructive dialogue and effective cooperation.

During the ceremony to unveil the symbolic stele established at the junction of the borders, the presidents participated via video conference from Khujand. They simultaneously pressed a button installed on a special stand, after which the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Deputy Prime Ministers of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan cut the ribbon, officially opening the stele.

The stele symbolizes the friendship of peoples and a new era of cooperation, trust, and good neighborliness between the states after the final resolution of border issues.
