In the Kadamjay district of the Batken region, within the Birlik rural municipality, work is actively being carried out to provide land with irrigation water.
The Ministry of Agriculture reported that at the III People's Kurultai, participants raised the issue of supplying irrigation water from the Orusai River, and this proposal was included in the approved action plan.
For 2025, the Ministry has developed a plan consisting of 410 activities based on the appeals of the delegates of the III People's Kurultai. Currently, 50 activities (12%) have already been completed, while 360 (88%) are in the process of implementation. There are no outstanding items.
It is noted that a significant portion of the delegates' appeals (60%) concerned irrigation issues, while 23% were related to providing the population with drinking water. These key areas are actively developing.
According to the statistician-economist of the Birlik rural municipality, Orozbek Ganiev, about two-thirds of the planned work has already been completed. In the gorge located above the village of Teskey, work is underway to crush stones and lay pipes for the water supply.
“With the help of a 400 mm diameter pipe, additional irrigation water will flow into the system, which will be directed into the canal. This will provide irrigation water for about 1300 hectares of land in the Birlik rural municipality,” he added.
