In the Batken region, the process of relocating residents from border villages adjacent to Tajikistan has been completed. On November 1, the presidential representative office in the Batken region announced the completion of this important initiative.

Families from the villages of Dostuk and Dөbө, as well as from Tash-Tumshuk (Ak-Tatyr rural district), the Kök-Terek and Mazeit areas, and the Teskey area (Samarkandek rural district) have now settled into new homes. A total of 181 houses were built in the new residential area of Chet-Bulak, located near the village of Buzhum.

This relocation was carried out within the framework of the protocol decisions of the Intergovernmental Working Group dealing with the demarcation of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. All inventory procedures have been completed, and the transfer of certain plots to the Tajik side is ongoing, as well as the acceptance of several territories from the Isfara, B. Gafurov, and J. Rasulov districts of Tajikistan into Kyrgyzstan.

According to the protocol, Tajikistan received:
- 181 residential houses,
- 133 vacant land plots,
- 8 social facilities and other buildings located in the villages of Dostuk and Dөbө, the village of Tash-Tumshuk, as well as in the Kök-Terek and Mazeit areas.

In turn, Kyrgyzstan received:
- 198 residential houses,
- 84 vacant land plots,
- 12 social facilities located in the villages of Somoniyon and Kojo-Aylo, as well as in the Orto-Boz area of the Isfara district of Tajikistan.

All transferred facilities are under the protection of the internal affairs units and border service of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In the village of Dostuk, residents held a joint prayer and honored the memory of their ancestors while receiving clarifications on the relocation issues. A meeting also took place between representatives of the Batken and Sughd regions, during which the parties exchanged signed inventory acts.

The relocation of residents from the villages of Kulundu, Sada, and Maksat in the Leilek district is planned to be completed by November 30, 2025.

As of October 25, 2025, according to information from the Border Service of the GKNB of Kyrgyzstan, engineering works have been completed at the state border, including the installation of 107 km 590.5 m of wire, among which are:
- 109 reinforced concrete posts,
- 71,989 m of "Egoza" wire,
- 26,419 m of barbed wire,
- 9,182.5 m of 3D fences.

Additionally, 143 km 655 m of roads have been constructed.
It was previously reported that on April 29, 2025, work began in the Batken region on the installation of border fencing at the junction of the borders of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. This work started in the Koshmolo area of the Tort-Gul rural district.

A field camp with comfortable conditions for border guards was established in the area for the fencing work. Special equipment is being used on-site. Initially, it is planned to install fencing along 420 km of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, with the work expected to be completed by the end of the current year.

The delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border has been completed, and on March 13, 2025, an agreement on border issues was signed in Bishkek between the heads of the two states.

During a trilateral meeting of the presidents of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, on March 31 in Khujand, important documents were signed, including the Treaty on the Junction Point of the Borders of the Three States and the Khujand Declaration on Eternal Friendship.

These agreements symbolize respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the countries, as well as serve as an example of constructive dialogue and effective cooperation in Central Asia. The heads of state participated in the unveiling of a symbolic stele at the junction point of the borders, marking a new era of cooperation and trust following the final resolution of border issues.
