A tragedy occurred in central Bangladesh: a passenger bus fell into the Padma River, claiming the lives of 18 people, reports Kazinform citing TASS and The Daily Star.
According to local sources, the incident happened while the bus was on a pontoon waiting to board a ferry. At the time of the accident, there were about 40 passengers on board. 11 of them managed to reach the shore on their own.
Rescue operations lasted about six hours, after which the bus was lifted from the riverbed. During the operation, the bodies of 18 deceased individuals were found, and several passengers are still considered missing.
