
In the last 24 hours, 17 people have died in Afghanistan due to heavy rains, floods, and landslides, and 26 people have been injured. This data was provided by the National Disaster Management Authority, reports the Kazinform agency.
According to the information, the number of victims may increase as assessments of the affected areas continue. Natural disasters have affected 13 out of 34 provinces in the country, including western, central, and northwestern regions.
As a result of the severe weather, 147 houses were destroyed and 80 kilometers of roads were damaged. Agricultural lands and irrigation systems were also affected, impacting 530 families.
The spokesperson for the authority, Yusuf Hammad, reported that new precipitation is expected on Monday, March 30, which may cause further flooding in the eastern and central regions.
Residents are advised to avoid water bodies and dangerous areas, and local authorities should be prepared to assist those affected.
