
Tragedy occurred in Uzgen: a two-month-old infant died after a hijama procedure.
According to information provided to the Kabar agency, the director of the Uzgen Center for General Medical Practice, Bermet Masadykova, reported that the infant was urgently delivered to the intensive care unit in critical condition. The child was brought in from the village of Ak-Zhar in the Kara-Shoro rural district and, unfortunately, died due to significant blood loss.
“The parents took the baby to a folk healer, where incisions were made on his back. When he arrived at the hospital, the hemoglobin level was only 45, and there was severe bleeding. Despite our efforts, the infant, who was admitted at night, died in the morning. The condition was too severe, and we could not help. We notified the police about this case,” she noted.The press secretary of the Osh regional police department, Talaybek Baytikov, confirmed that the incident has been registered and necessary investigative actions have begun.
“Based on the collected materials and the examination, those involved in the infant's death will receive a legal assessment in accordance with the law,” he added.
