The State Committee for National Security (SCNS) reported the detention of several employees of the State Penitentiary Service (SPS) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in a fraud case.
According to the SCNS, as a result of joint actions with the Main Department of Criminal Investigation (MDCI) of the SPS and the Investigative Department of the MIA, it was established that several officials from the SPS and the Internal Affairs Department of the Pervomaisky District of Bishkek received money from citizens.
The investigation revealed that the employees, acting according to a pre-agreed plan, received funds under the pretext of resolving the issue of granting clemency to one of the convicted individuals.
During the investigation, it was found that J.D., an employee of the IK-16 SPS, and T.N., an employee of the Internal Affairs Department of the Pervomaisky District, misappropriated a large sum of money by gaining the trust of a convict in IK-1 SPS. This occurred between December 2024 and April 2025. As a result, clemency was denied to the convict.
In connection with the above, the Main Investigative Department of the SCNS initiated a criminal case under Article 209, Part 4, Clause 4 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code. The detainees have been placed in the temporary detention facility (IVS) of the SCNS pre-trial detention center.
