Georgy Georgievich Petrashov, a recognized master of cycling and a well-known coach, passed away at the age of 88. This was reported by the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The sports community of Kyrgyzstan and the entire world has suffered a great loss. Petrashov was not only an outstanding athlete but also an Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, dedicating his life to the development of cycling in the country.
For 13 years, he led the cycling team of the Kyrgyz SSR, laying the foundation for many future achievements. Even after his career ended, Georgy Georgievich continued to participate in international championships among veterans, demonstrating that age is not a barrier for a true champion.
His legacy lives on in his son Evgeny and grandson Denis Petrashov, who have also achieved success on the international stage, continuing the sports dynasty.
